LORENZA DOW

Lorenza Dow a Methodist preacher traveled through Burnt Corn in 1803 and descibed the area and the people in his writing as "Creeks" because of the beautiful rivers and streams. That is how the Muscogee Indians became known as "Creek" Indians and why Burnt Corn was referred to as "Burnt Corn Creek."
