Burnt Corn, Alabama is the home of "The Blues Hound" of Choice 106.9 FM, WRNE 980 AM, WBQP TV-12 in Pensacola, Florida. Choice/WRNE is a black owned and formatted radio station in Pensacola, Florida. The Blues Hound Show is on every Saturday between 10am to 2pm and on The Blues Hound YouTube Channel. The Blues Hound plays Southern Soul and Blues music. While you're there, please subscribe to the channel. The Blues Hound was born Vernon Watson in Burnt Corn and his parent are Joseph and Hettie Watson of Burnt Corn. Vernon is also the owner of WBQP TV-12, located in Pensacola, Florida. WBQP TV went on air in 1992 and WRNE Radio went on air in 1990 and are the only black owned and operated FCC licensed radio and television on the Gulf Coast. Vernon has a controlling interest in Dance Konnection, Inc. which was established in 2009 and Studio 61 which open in 2014. Dance Konnection, Inc. is a black owned Dance organization and Studio 61 is Pensacola's only black owned Dance Studio. The Bluez Hound is also a military veteran. He spend 4 years in the U.S. Navy and (1-1/2)one and one-half years in the Naval Reserves as a Second Class Petty Officer and another (25-1/2) twenty five and one half years in the Air Force Reserves as Air Force Personnel Officer. After serving as (7) seven years as a an enlisted man (five years as an Naval 2nd Class Petty Officer (E5) and (2) two years an Air Force Technical Sergeant (E6) and another (25) twenty years as an Air Force Officer, retired as after 32+ year at the rank of Major.
