Rachael is the mother of James "Jim" Tait who was fathered by a white man named Sam Dukes. Rachael is also the grandmother to Hettie Irene Tait. After Jim was born Racheal married John Tait and little is known about John except that he is the step father of James "Jim" Tait and the step grandfather of Hettie (Tait) Watson. John Tait married Racheal after James was born. John and Rachael had nine more children: Hettie, Prince, Sandy, Osborne, Frank, Renita, Lude, Shephard, and Alberta.
